Polymeric Imaging, Inc., currently holds a number of patents which stem from our specialty research, with another number presently in the patent process. We will do patent research for those companies that request us to do so. We will charge either by the project and its expected research time, or share in the patent itself.
As Polymeric forges forward, we will continue to refine research and develop new and often radical approaches to UV inks and coating alternatives. In a very short period of time, there have been astounding advancements in all aspects of screen, digital and coating technology. Digital is over 30% of our business and has grown to that level in less than 3 years. This growth is entirely due to our research capabilities.
Digital Inks
In 2007, Polymeric Imaging Inc. introduced and released “UVD-VAC”, the first Digital UV vacuum-formable ink in the world. This patented product is an extremely high performance digital ink system that has over an 800% elongation capability. In addition to vacuum forming and heat bending, UVD-VAC also exhibits excellent adhesion to the broadest range of materials of any UV Digital ink system available. This includes Acrylic, PETG, Coroplast ®, HDPE & polyethylene banner materials and more.
Unlike most UV digital ink systems, UVD-VAC stands up to the most stringent finishing requirements; such as routing, die cutting and sawing. With its high elongation characteristics UVD-VAC makes an ideal choice for graphics that need to conform to contours, corrugations and rivets, and especially for vehicle wraps and fleet graphic applications. Currently this technology is compatible with all Spectra Class heads. Polymeric Imaging now offers custom PMS spot color matches, short term digital fluorescents, billboard and banner, multi-purpose flatbed, high performance specialty and industrial systems, along with a myriad of specialty roller coatings often used to complement digitally printed graphics.

Coatings
With the continued success and evolution of the digital market, the need for high performance custom coatings has been an essential transition for not only digital but Flexo, litho, gravure, anilox and roll-coating as well. These high performance coatings are specifically designed with the end user in mind. These solutions are literally initiated by you, the customer. Our coatings have a very broad range of applications, including; Metallic’s, Glitters & Sparkle, Graffiti/Dry Erase, Flame Retardant/Suppressing, Barrier whites, PMS Custom Color matching, Solar Shield Sun-Block Clear, and fluorescent/Day-Glo’s. Custom formulations are also available upon request.
Adhesives
Polymeric Imaging is the leading independent developer of high-performance, custom pressure-sensitive adhesives, coatings, specialty films, and laminates. All formulated to meet the credit card industry laminating requirements for use with metallic and pearlescent type pigments often associated with plastic card screen printed constructions, which optimizes a smooth bonding and high peel strength of the film to the printed core stocks.
